Attorney Scott Bonder announces run for Georgia Supreme Court
ATLANTA, Ga., (August 30, 2011) - Attorney Scott Bonder announced his intention to run for the Georgia Supreme Court in Atlanta today with the release of his campaign committee.
The long list of supporters includes elected officials such as Republican State Representative B.J. Pak and Democratic State Representative Mary Margaret Oliver. Also supporting Bonder is Joe Whitley, former U.S. Attorney for both the Northern (Atlanta) and Middle (Macon) Federal Districts of Georgia.
Bonder, 43, was a United States Marine prior to earning his law degree from Emory Law School in Atlanta. He and his wife Teresa, son Sam and daughter Ella live in DeKalb County, where Bonder is the President of Fernbank Elementary School P.T.A., and on the Board of Directors of the DeKalb Bar Association.
Bonder, a civil litigator focusing on litigation between businesses, has practiced law in Georgia before federal and state courts. His experience includes class action work, jury trials, bench trials and appellate matters. He has appeared in a wide variety of State and Superior Courts of Georgia, as well as in New York, Florida, and Texas state courts. Bonder’s federal practice has included cases pending in federal courts in Georgia, Alabama, California, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, and New York.
Bonder plans to spend the next year meeting Georgia voters at civic and political events all over the state. Scott Bonder says, “I believe in as much direct voter contact as possible so that I can really listen to and understand their concerns. I look forward meeting voters and earning their vote.”
The Scott Bonder Campaign will host an official campaign kick-off event this fall.
