Top prep football players set to descend upon metro Atlanta for upcoming Elite Performer Sports Spring Football Camp & Combine this weekend
Partnership with Scout.com and ESPN will ensure maximum exposure
Atlanta (March 16, 2010) – Some of the best football players will descend upon Metro Atlanta this weekend to compete in the upcoming Elite Performer Sports (EPS) Spring Football Camp & Combine, which will be held at South Atlanta High School Football Stadium this Saturday, March 20th, (9 am - 4 pm).
The camp will have a mixture of players that will be separated into age groups 8-13 and 14-18, and according to camp organizer and EPS owner Erasmus Harvey it will be a chance to see both stars of today and tomorrow.
Registration for ages 14-18 is 7:30 – 8:30 am and the cost is $35 until March 19th and $45 the day of the camp. Registration for ages 8-13 is 10 – 11 am and the cost is $25 up until March 19th and $35 the day of the camp.
“We have commitments from some of the top high school players in the Atlanta area, as well as players from Middle and South Georgia and neighboring states,” said Harvey, a former All-Conference performer at Valdosta State who also played in the CFL. “In addition, we have some younger players that will attend from some of this area’s recreation football hotbeds, such as Ben Hill, Jonesboro, Tucker and Dacula, and as far away as my hometown of Americus.”
Harvey says the camp will give prep football players a chance to improve their chances of receiving a scholarship by performing the same type of drills that are done at the NFL Combine.
“We have had close to 50 players that have earned scholarships and are currently playing in college, and we know the best is yet to come,” said Harvey, who also will field a prep football team this year when the Elite Performer Sports Academy (EPSA) Cobras kick off this fall. “In addition, footage of the best players will be sent to Scout.com and to ESPN, so that will give the players even more incentive to come out and perform so they can increase their chances of earning a scholarship.”
Harvey said that while the kids ages 8-13 won’t be tested, they will go through drills that help them in their development as they look to become seasoned football players for high school and beyond.
The public is invited to attend this event, which is free.
"It's about pride and believing in yourself and your school or your recreation team," said Harvey . "The kids are pumped, and I can't wait until Saturday!"
