Gwinnett Place CID Increases Partnership Gwinnett Funding
CID bolsters strong relation with Partnership Gwinnett
DULUTH (March 11, 2010) — Board members with the Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District (CID) have increased the CID’s funding commitment to the Partnership Gwinnett economic development initiative.
The board voted unanimously this week to add $2,000 to the CID’s annual contribution of $20,000 – a 10 percent increase in funding.
CID Chairman Mark Williams said the strong working relationship between the CID and Partnership Gwinnett is vital to the continued success of greater Gwinnett Place.
“We always applaud the successful efforts of the Partnership Gwinnett team, especially as they spotlight the CID’s great accomplishments,” Williams said. “We are working harder than ever to plan and deliver the much-needed improvements necessary to strengthen Gwinnett Place’s economic vitality, and Partnership Gwinnett is a key part of our joints efforts.”
By working with Partnership Gwinnett, such large-scale, high-wage employers as NCR’s global headquarters, Medical Business Services and Bright Ideas have located to Gwinnett Place.
Nick Masino, vice president of economic development and Partnership Gwinnett at the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, said the CID’s leadership greatly increases the appeal of Gwinnett Place to future employers.
“Having the ready presence of the CID’s staff and board members makes it much easier for our economic development professionals to present Gwinnett Place to business interests from around the world,” Masino said. “We greatly appreciate the Gwinnett Place CID and look forward to many more joint success stories to continue in the near future.”
In April 2007, the Gwinnett Place CID became the first official financial contributor to Partnership Gwinnett.
