Gwinnett Medical Center Recognizes Atlanta's Top Docs

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA (June 2, 2010) - Gwinnett Medical Center is pleased to announce that 12 of its distinguished physicians are featured in Atlanta Magazine's yearly selection of the city's "Top Doctors."

Atlanta Magazine's Top Doctors list was compiled by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a New York-based healthcare research and information company. A team of physician-led researchers followed a rigorous screening process to select top doctors on the national and regional levels. Using mail and telephone surveys and electronic ballots, they asked hundreds of metro area doctors to name their most respected colleagues. The researchers sought to identify not only physicians who excel in academic medicine and research, but also, most importantly, those who exhibit excellence in patient care - those to whom nominating physicians would send their own families, according to Atlanta Magazine.

From Gwinnett Medical Center, Roosevelt Allen Jr., M.D., urology; David B. Arkin, M.D., diabetes; Dinesh Chatoth, M.D., nephrology; Louis I. Heller, M.D., interventional cardiology; Theresa A. Lawrence, M.D., rheumatology; Peter C. Mann, M.D., gynecology; Phillip H. Nakano, M.D., plastic surgery; Joseph F. Pohl, M.D., gynecology and obstetrics; Manfred A. Sandler, M.D., cardiovascular disease; Neill Videlefsky, M.D., pediatric cardiology; Jonathan S. Weiss, M.D., dermatology, and John A. Zora, M.D., allergy and immunology, were all chosen as Atlanta's finest doctors within their respective fields.

Gwinnett Medical Center and its 12 featured physicians will be honored at a reception held on Thursday, June 10 at the Mason Murer Fine Art Gallery in Atlanta. At the event, Atlanta Magazine will recognize GMC's physicians for their outstanding performance and demonstrated excellence
