Pamoja Penda Music & Arts Festival announces performance schedule for March 28 event

All Proceeds to Be Used to Rebuild War-Torn Northern Uganda

Atlanta, Ga., (February 9, 2010) - Pamoja Penda, a green music and arts festival at Park Tavern in Midtown Atlanta on Sunday, March 28, 2010, has announced the performance lineup and full schedule, which is available online at www.pamojapenda.org. Live music performances at the all-day charity event include sets by: Pamoja Penda Family Band, Drum Cafe, Eastern Standard, Matthew Mayfield, Micah Dalton, Junior League, Futurebirds and Yacht Rock. The festival will also feature a barefoot soccer match organized by Grassroots Soccer, a sustainable arts and crafts market, the screening of the documentaries Upbeat and Mothers of a Nation, and much more.

Pamoja Penda - Swahilli for “one community, one love,” benefits the Ugandan American Partnership Organization’s (UAPO) work with refugee communities in Northern Uganda and helps to raise awareness for grassroots organizations in Africa and Atlanta. Pamoja Penda's goal is to connect communities in Atlanta to Africa by bringing family and friends together in an eco-friendly celebration of arts, music and culture. The festival is donating One hundred percent of all proceeds to the organization and its effort to rebuild the war-torn region of Northern Uganda.
