Metro Atlanta Access Center Expands Services for Dialysis Patients

ATLANTA (August 25, 2010) – Metro Atlanta Access Center, LLC (MAAC) is pleased to announce the addition of 17 new members to its organization, which owns and operates an outpatient vascular access facility in the Camp Creek Medical Center area. 

In 2007, 14 physicians from 4 different practices came together to create an entity which would provide effective and efficient vascular access care to patients receiving hemodialysis treatment for end-stage renal disease (ESRD). MAAC’s growth brings the total number of participating physicians to 31, allowing them to provide additional services, such as lower extremity angiography for patients suffering from Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD). 

“Our patients have been excited and enthusiastic about the convenience our access center offers,” Dr. William Cleveland, member of the MAAC Board of Directors, said. “The addition of new physician members enables us to provide services that will help more patients in the metro Atlanta area avoid hospitalization when they need access care.” 

What's more, community physicians have consistently supported MAAC’s model of providing care. In fact, Kaiser Permanente has certified the MAAC facility as being a provider of choice for metro Atlanta Kaiser Patients.

Metro Atlanta Access Center, which celebrates its 3rd anniversary this month, is accredited by the Joint Commission, as part of the Lifeline Vascular Access system of managed centers.
