Competitor Highlights
• Bill Ploeger of Columbus and Spencer Sappington of Milton return to this year’s field after a runner-up finish a year ago. The duo has claimed three victories as a team – having won together in 2000, 2002 and 2007. Ploeger has two more wins on his resume with wins in 1997 and 1999 while Sappington also won in 1998.
• Also competing for the title are Lawrenceville’s Karl Simon and Taylor Adams of St. Simons Island. They teamed up to win the 2006 event and posted a top-5 finish in 2007.
• Another championship-winning tandem competing for the title in 2009 is Frank Perry of Fayetteville and Mike Jackson of Martinez. Perry and Jackson captured the 2003 event held at Jekyll Island Golf Resort.
