July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza at Gwinnett Stadium
July 4th Game Kicks Off a Three Game Homestand for the G-Braves

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA (June 30, 2009) - Gwinnett Stadium is now the official destination for families on the 4th of July! The G-Braves fireworks extravaganza, which prior to the team moving to Gwinnett was the largest show in Virginia, will take place following the Gwinnett Braves game vs. the Norfolk Tides (Baltimore Orioles) at 6:05 p.m. The show is specially choreographed to a patriotic soundtrack and is designed to be the biggest and best show on the block. A limited amount of tickets and seating options are still available for the game.

Just prior to the fireworks show, the Braves will honor a local Hometown Hero and Operation Homefront will provide a banner where fans may write messages to the United States troops overseas. After the game, the banner will be sent abroad and displayed in the soldiers’ commissary.

In addition to the post-game festivities, on the 70th anniversary of Lou Gehrig’s legendary farewell speech, the evening also features the ALS Association. As one of Minor League Baseball’s Official Charities, ALS has planned a pre-game ceremony that includes honoring ALS patients and families and reenacting the famous speech.
