Actions Taken by the State Board of Cemeterians at its June 24 Meeting

Macon, Ga. (June 30, 2009) — The State Board of Cemeterians met on Wednesday, June 24, 2009.

The Board voted to allow Westview Cemetery of Atlanta to charge $135 for the first contemporaneous installation and $50 for the second contemporaneous marker installation.

The Board voted to close the case against Georgia Memorial Park and Funeral Home of Marietta.

The Board voted to abandon the applications for:
Secure Seal Vaults, Estill, SC: Merchandise dealer
Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Buford: Preneed dealer

The Board voted to maintain the $135 fee for reimbursement to cemetery for costs incurred in assisting in the sitting of a monument, supervision and inspection of the installation and deed transfer fee.

The Board voted to re-elect Richard Parker of Brunswick to serve a second term as Board President and elected Mickey Couey of Milledgeville as Board Vice President.

The State Board of Cemeterians will hold its next meeting Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Floyd Memorial Towers in Atlanta.
