XTERRA prepares for next Georgia Run at Pig Tail
Race #8 in 2009 XTERRA Georgia Trail Run Series

MACON, GA (June 26, 2009) – On July 26, the brand new XTERRA Pig Trail Run brings 10-kilometers of adventure to the Georgia Children’s Home. Located within the city limits of Macon, this course offers both technical singletrack in a hardwood forest and fast open doubletrack through a twisty pine forest. Although there is not much altitude gained along the course, runners should be prepared for the short steep hill fondly referred to as Chandler’s Challenge and keep an eye out for the wild pigs rumored to inhabit the area.

This will be the eighth of nine races in the 2009 XTERRA Georgia Trail Run Series, so athletes will only have one more opportunity to earn series points after this event. Those ending the series with top scores will be crowned Regional Champions and receive free entry to the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship on September 13 in Bend, Oregon. Then on December 6, Georgians can test their skills against the world’s best at the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship on the beautiful, tropic Hawaiian island of Oahu.

Also, this is a reminder that the XTERRA Silver Comet Trail Run (race #7) is coming up this Sunday in Hiram, GA.
