Unisource partners with Lakeshore Foundation to promote Paralympic achievements
New Brochure Featuring Athletes Printed On Starbrite Opaque Paper
NORCROSS, GA (June 25, 2009) – Unisource Worldwide, Inc., one of the leading distributors of paper, packaging and facility supplies in North America, has partnered with the Lakeshore Foundation – an official U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Site located in Birmingham, Ala. – to showcase Paralympic athletes.
“A few Unisource team members made the three-hour trek from Unisource’s headquarters outside of Atlanta to the Lakeshore Foundation, and had the chance to meet some of these incredible Paralympic athletes. To them, they are just ordinary people doing ordinary things,” said Ed Farley, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Unisource. “But to us, they are extraordinary athletes accomplishing extraordinary feats of courage,” he said.
The Lakeshore Foundation – a non-profit 501c3 organization that promotes independence for persons with physically disabling conditions while providing them with opportunities to pursue active, healthy lifestyles – is located on a 45-acre campus with state-of-the-art training facilities. It’s one of the nation’s premiere fitness, recreation and education facilities for persons with physically disabling conditions. Each year, the Lakeshore Foundation serves more than 3,000 physically disabled individuals, from infants and adolescents, to Paralympic athletes and centenarians.
After seeing the rigorous workouts, intense schedules and positive attitudes that each of the athletes possessed, Farley’s team knew that they had to find a way to champion this cause and support these individuals who thrive because of what the Lakeshore Foundation has to offer. “The Unisource team came through for them and developed a partnership with the Lakeshore Foundation – a relationship that we are committed to supporting annually through our Starbrite Opaque product line,” Farley said.
The partnership includes the production of a brochure featuring Unisource’s Starbrite Opaque paper – a favorite of designers and printers who demand uncompromising quality, performance, versatility and “brightness.” The publication was deemed the perfect vehicle to help share the stories of the Paralympic athletes who train at the Lakeshore Foundation and who are stars in their own right. As readers turn each page of the high impact, creatively designed brochure, they will explore the journeys of athletes with undeniable winning attitudes who, each day, overcome some of life’s most difficult obstacles. And with the introduction of the new Starbrite Opaque brochure, Unisource also hopes to inspire others to join in and support this noteworthy cause.
