Ashworth College Partners with eLearners.com To Sponsor Career To Help Undereducated, Underemployed Adult Americans Further Their Education
National Career Stimulus Package and Empowerment Tour To Arrive in Atlanta July 1 and 2

NORCROSS, Georgia (June 23, 2009) – Ashworth College announced that it is partnering with eLearners.com, a web resource of EducationDynamics, to launch a new national program aimed at helping adults kick start their careers through education, entitled "Career Stimulus Package" (www.careerstimulus.com).

The comprehensive career education program will offer undereducated, underemployed adults access to online education opportunities, including up to $4 million in full-tuition scholarships, and job shadowing programs at some of America's most innovative companies.

Ashworth College is one of eight accredited online colleges and universities participating in the Career Stimulus program. Combined, the schools will be awarding approximately $4 million in full-ride college scholarships.

“Partnering with eLearners.com is an opportunity for Ashworth College to help make a difference. Through education, we can help deserving, hard-working American adults improve their lives,” said F. Milton Miller, Ed.D. and Ashworth Vice President, Education.

“Post secondary education can make a significant difference in someone’s career. It can set an employee or business owner apart as a professional and demonstrate business knowledge to peers, potential customers and employers,” Miller added. “Whether a career certificate or diploma or a college degree, education can take skills - and income - to the next level.”

Empowerment Tour Comes To Atlanta

At the center of the campaign is a 40-city RV "Empowerment Tour" offering free career coaching services. The tour stops in Atlanta on July 1 and 2, 2009. The tour will offer free career laser coaching sessions. Reservations will be accepted online at www.empowermenttour.com; however, reservations can be made on location as well. Ashworth College representatives will also be on hand to answer questions about education opportunities. The itinerary is:

July 1, 2009: Margaret Mitchell House/
Center for Southern Literature
990 Peachtree Street NE
Atlanta, GA 30309
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

July 2, 2009: Atlantic Station
171 17th Street
Atlanta, GA 30363
10- 5 p.m.

"The undereducated, underemployed adult population is a silent crisis in America today and it needs a voice - a very loud voice," explains Terrence Thomas, EVP Marketing Operations for eLearners.com. "Not only is the fact that more than 70% of Americans aged 25 and older not having a bachelor's degree debilitating to the competitive status of our nation, but it's adversely affecting future generations as these adults ultimately become parents and we need them to be education role models for America's children."

In addition to the coaching sessions, each Empowerment Tour stop will feature an Education Station where people can apply for a full-tuition scholarship. The Empowerment Tour will also include a Donation Station where people can donate old suits and other interview appropriate attire.
