Simon Kidgits Club, National Crime Prevention Council team up for fun, safe summer at Gwinnett area Simon Malls
Local law enforcement helps show kids how to play it safe

ATLANTA, GA (June 9, 2009) – Between trips to the pool and bicycling adventures, summer means fun in the sun for kids free from the five-day school week. But it can also be the season for preventable injuries. As temperatures get toasty, Simon Kidgits Club is taking strides to equip young outdoor aficionados with summer safety skills.

Local law enforcement will show kids the fun side to summer safety at Gwinnett-area Simon malls -- the perfect way to take shelter from the summer swelter. McGruff the Crime Dog will even make a special appearance at Gwinnett Place Mall’s event on June 20.

Simon Kidgits Club teaches kids how to be safe as they embark on a summer of fun. Kids play games and visit safety learning stations to understand and experience the importance of summer safety. They also have the chance to pick out bug finger puppets and make jars to house their warm-weather insect friends. Simon Kidgits Club members will also receive colorful ice-cream-cone bowls and a scoop spoon to enjoy summer’s sweet treats, while supplies last.
