Notes:
Matt Nagy of Buena Vista, Ga., a member of the Kennesaw State University men's golf team, entered play as an alternate and fired a course-record, nine-under-par 63 in his second round to post 134 (-10) for the day to advance to the U.S. Open Championship. Nagy captured the second alternate position at the Marietta Country Club local qualifying site after a seven-hole playoff.

PGA TOUR pro and former Georgia Tech golfer Matt Kuchar of Atlanta, Ga. also posted 134, with rounds of 66 and 68 to share co-medalist honors with Nagy. Kuchar posted only bogey on the day which came on the second hole of his second round.

Cameron Tringale of Laguna Niguel, Calif., who just finished his playing career with the Georgia Tech men's golf team, finished at nine-under 135 to capture the third and final qualifying spot.

Patton Kizzire of Auburn, Ala. and Byeung-Hun An of Korea each posted 137. Kizzire was named first alternate after An failed to show up for the playoff.

Hawks Ridge Golf Club played to 7,186 yards and a par of 72.

The 109th U.S. Open Championship will be held at Bethpage State Park's Black Course in Farmingdale, N.Y., June 18-21. Entries were open to any professional and to amateurs with USGA Handicap Indexes not exceeding 1.4. The USGA received a record number of entries - 9,086 - for this year's Championship, surpassing the previous record of 9,048 entries for the 2005 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina. The U.S. Open is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
