Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy at its July 21 Meeting

Macon, Ga. (July 27, 2009) — The Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy met on Tuesday, July 21, 2009.

During the meeting the Board voted to post amendments to the following rules:
490-2-.03, Licensure: Foreign Educated Applicants (Re-titled Licensure: Examination. Foreign Educated Applicants): Changes the title of the rule and adds a 1,000 hour traineeship for non-Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education graduates with less than two years of active practice immediately preceding the application for Georgia licensure. 
490-2-.04, Training Permits: Provides information on the types of applicants who qualify for training permits and the timeframe allowed to complete the permit. 
490-2-.09, Licensure: Endorsement: Adds the requirement of Georgia law examination for endorsement candidates. 

The Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy will hold its next meeting Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.
