Lake Lanier Islands Resort hosts 4th of July Gala Weekend & Fireworks Extravaganza 

LAKE LANIER ISLANDS, GA (July 1, 2009) - Celebrate the Nation's Birthday as Lake Lanier Islands Resort hosts 2-Day Gala and Fireworks Extravaganza at Chattahoochee Rapids Beach & WaterPark. Hosted by on-air talent from Q100, Star 94, and B98.5, families will enjoy live entertainment, music, exciting games-and North Georgia's largest fireworks display. 

The party kicks off on Friday, July 3 from 11AM - 2PM as Q100 evening DJ Adam Bomb will be on hand with exciting prizes and giveaways, including 4 season passes to the Chattahoochee Rapids Beach & WaterPark.

The festivities continue at 10AM on Saturday, July 4 as the Chattahoochee Rapids Beach & WaterPark opens. Families will be thrilled by the exciting FunDunker®, an interactive water attraction; Wild Waves, Georgia's largest wave pool, as well as numerous heart-stopping waterslides. The Kiddie Lagoon, featuring Wiggle Waves, is perfect for pint-sized guests. 

Visitors can also kick back on Lake Lanier's ½ mile of sandy white beaches, the perfect spot to watch the fireworks after dark.

Cindy from Star 94's Cindy & Ray Show will be onsite from 10AM - NOON to hand out G2, Gatorade's NEW Low Calorie Sport's Drink. 

Then from 1:30PM - 3:30PM, join Jordan Gray as she hosts B98.5's Family Olympics at Chattahoochee Rapids WaterPark. Four families will compete in a series of timed events on various park attractions, including a challenging ropes course, the wave pool, and a waterslide. The winning family will receive a fabulous two-night Family Fun Package at Lake Lanier Islands Resort.

Throughout the weekend, families can also take in pony and trail rides at the Equestrian Center, special poolside events at Legacy Lodge & Conference Center, as well as ski boat, pontoon and houseboat rentals from Harbor Landing. 

The festivities culminate Saturday evening with North Georgia's largest fireworks display, which will be presented after dark.
