Lawrenceville, Ga., (May 8, 2008) – Get out with family and friends this Saturday and enjoy two fun-filled free events sponsored by Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation (GCPR) that won’t put a strain on your budget.

In the morning or early afternoon, head out to Duluth for Old McDaniel Day at McDaniel Farm Park, 3251 McDaniel Rd. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. enjoy free activities including hayrides, music, live animals, music, Civil War reenactors and fun kid’s activities. Arts and crafts vendors will also be selling items. Event parking is located off of Hwy. 120/Duluth Hwy. and McDaniel Road.

At 6 p.m., pack a picnic, your blankets or low-back lawn chairs, and head out to Lawrenceville for a free movie under the big blue sky as GCPR brings the popular Movie Under the Stars to Tribble Mill Park, 2125 Tribble Mill Pkwy. (just off of New-Hope Road). Enjoy free kids activities including moonwalks, a giant slide, rock climbing wall, a unique bubble-maker (Dr. Von Bubble), balloon artist, professional kite demonstrations, a hay ride, face painting, and temporary tattoos. At nightfall (approx. 8:30 p.m.) all eyes will turn toward a giant screen for the showing of Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, starring Dustin Hoffman and Natalie Portman.
