Termination of three solid waste haulers

Lawrenceville, Ga., (Feb. 11, 2008) The following solid waste haulers have been notified by Gwinnett County that effective Mar. 31, they are no longer authorized to provide solid waste hauling services in unincorporated Gwinnett County:

Red Oak Sanitation
Quality Waste Services
JC Roadrunner, Inc.

The haulers have also been instructed to refund customers for any payments that they have received for services beyond Mar. 31.

These companies were not able to provide the required financial assurances that are required by the County’s Solid Waste Ordinance. These assurances are needed to ensure that the garbage services provided to Gwinnett County residents are reliable and delivered safely and responsibly.

To address citizen concerns about the reliable delivery of services, Gwinnett County increased the insurance and bonding requirements in early 2007. All licensed and interested garbage collection companies were notified of the new requirements and have continued to be notified since the changes took affect.

For a list of approved and licensed garbage collection companies, call 770.822.5186 and press option 2 or visit www.gwinnettcb.org
