Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments
ATLANTA (April 17, 2008) – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments:
Board of Corrections
W. Roger Waldrop, 69, Rockmart, At-Large Representative —
Waldrop is a retired banker and Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, where he served as a Military Police officer. He served as Public Safety Director for the City of Rockmart, Rockmart City Manager, and Polk County Commissioner. Waldrop earned a bachelor's degree from North Georgia College and State University, master's degrees from Michigan State University and the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He and his wife, Barbara, have two grown children and four grandchildren.
Board of Directors of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority
Dwight H. Evans, 59, Stone Mountain —
Evans retired as executive vice president of Southern Company. He served as president of the company's external affairs group. As a member of the board of directors of the United States Chamber of Commerce, he chairs the Chamber's environment and energy committee. Evans is a member of the board of the U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution. He served on Georgia Board of Economic Development and the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. Evans served as president of the Southeastern Electric Exchange and president and chief executive officer of Mississippi Power. He earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a law degree from Atlanta Law School. He and his wife, Sharon, have two grown children and three grandchildren.

Thomas M. "Tim" Lowe III, 56, Atlanta —
Lowe is chairman and chief executive officer of Lowe Engineers, LLC. He serves as co-chairman of Coverdell Leadership Institute, is a member of the executive committee of the Buckhead Coalition, and serves on the board of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Lowe earned a bachelor's degree from Auburn University and a master's degree from Emory University. He and his wife, Janey, have three children.

Gerald T. "Jerry" Willis, 68, Perry, At-Large Representative —
Willis is manager of Willis Family Properties LLLP. He is a retired captain of the U.S. Coast Guard and served thirty years in the field of Maritime Safety. He is a member of the Peace Officers Association of Georgia and served as a member of the International Association of Airport and Seaport Police. He served as director of the U.S. Coast Guard Olympic Task Force and as operations officer aboard the USCG Cutter Gresham in Alameda, California. Willis earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and a master's degree from Webster University. He and his wife, Debra, have four children and four grandchildren.
Board of Trustees of the Teacher's Retirement System of Georgia
Charles D. "Charlie" Moseley, Jr., 65, Atlanta, At-Large Representative —
Moseley is the founding general partner of Noro-Moseley Partners. He serves on the board of trustees of the Georgia Tech Foundation and the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, as well as on the board of directors for the Atlanta Symphony and the Metro Atlanta Boys and Girls Club. Moseley earned a bachelor's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a master's degree from Harvard University. He and his wife, Brenda, have two grown children and four grandchildren.

Clyde H. Andrews, D.D.S., 63, Savannah, Southeast District Representative, REAPPOINTMENT —
Andrews has owned a private endodontic practice for over 25 years. He is a member of Georgia Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and serves as president of the Georgia Board of Dental Examiners. He served as president of the Southeastern District Dental Association. Andrews graduated from Gordon Military College, and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and a D.D.S. degree from Emory University. He and his wife, Andrea, have one grown child and one grandchild.

Sandra K. "Sandi" Gentry, 38, Flowery Branch, At-Large Representative —
Gentry serves as administrative assistant to the manager of legislative affairs at Georgia Power Company. She has served as president and events coordinator of the Gwinnett Chapter, and operations committee chair of the State Board for Citizens of Georgia Power. She served as a member of the Metro North Employee Advisory Council. Gentry earned a bachelor's degree from Shorter College and is currently pursuing a master's degree. She is married to Scott Gentry.
Richard R. McIntyre II, 61, Woodland, Labor Representative —
McIntyre retired from the Meriwether County School System after teaching for over 30 years and is now a substitute teacher. Active with the Georgia Association of Educators, he serves as a representative, treasurer, vice president, and president at the local level. He is the head coach for the West Georgia Wolverines wheelchair sports team
and serves as chairman of the State Spelling Bee Committee. He
served as an officer in the United States Army and was awarded the Bronze Star and two army Commendation Medals. He is a former volunteer for the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon.
McIntyre earned a bachelor's degree from Trinity University and a master's degree from Columbus College. He and his wife, Bonnie, have one grown son and two granddaughters.
Michael P. "Mike" Statham, 60, Griffin, At-Large Representative —
Statham is the chief of special operations and public relations at Christian Ministries Hospice. He serves as vice chairman of senior issues committee for the Spalding County Collaborative Authority and is a member of the health and overview committees of Partners for a Prosperous Griffin Spalding County. He served in the military as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard. Statham attended the University of Georgia, Gordon College, and Georgia Military College. He and his wife, Scotti, have one grown child.

C. Leslie Murphy, 51, Richmond Hill, First Congressional District Representative—
Murphy and her husband are the co-owners of Richmond Hill Land and Realty Company. She is a corporate member of the Richmond Hill Historical Society and is the vice-president and chairman of the ways and means committee of Arts on the Coast Association, Inc. She served on the Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce and as a volunteer for the Bryan County Republican Party. Murphy earned a bachelor's and a master's degree from Georgia Southern College. She and her husband, John, have three grown children.
Georgia Drivers Education Commission
Lynn E. Breck, 54, Snellville —
Breck is the director of public relations for New London School of Driving. She serves as a member of the Grayson Chamber of Commerce, Lilburn Business Alliance, Greater Gwinnett Republican Women, and the Snellville Commerce Club. She earned a bachelor's degree from Georgia Southwestern College and a master's degree from Southern Theological Seminary. She and her husband, Lloyd, have one child.
William F. "Bill" Farwig, 61, Fayetteville —
Farwig is the regional manager of safety and security for ABF Freight System, Inc. He served as the 1st vice chairman of the Georgia Motor Truck Association Safety Council and as a member of the Southeast Transportation Security Council. He was named the 2007 Georgia Safety Professional of the Year. He served in the military as a helicopter crew chief in the U.S. Army. Farwig attended the United States Army Aviation School.
He and his wife, Barbara, have two grown children and one grandchild.
State Construction Industry Licensing Board
Thomas M. "Tom" Dozier, 66, Augusta, Division of Master Plumbers and Journeyman Plumbers —
Dozier is president of Gold Mech, Inc. He is a registered professional mechanical engineer in Georgia and South Carolina. He is a member of the Exchange Club of Augusta and the board of directors of SunTrust Bank of Augusta and the Sacred Heart Cultural Center. He served as president of the Georgia Association of Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Contractors. He served in the military as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. Dozier earned a bachelor's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has three grown children and six grandchildren.
