TODAY ON THE FLOOR Speaker of the House, Rep. Glenn Richardson, gaveled the House into session today, at 10:00am for the session's 3rd Legislative Day. After a few morning orders, the Speaker announced that the House would stand in recess until 11:30am. The recess was to allow the State Senate to join the House in a Joint Session, in order to welcome Governor Sonny Perdue to deliver his "State of the State" and budget address to the members. The Joint Session was presided over by Lt. Governor Casey Cagle. Upon the end of Governor's address, the Joint Session was dissolved. *There were no bills debated on the floor of the House today. * The House will reconvene Thursday, January 11, at 10:00 AM, for its 4th Legislative Day of the 1st Regular Session of the 149th General Assembly. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ COMMITTEE ON RULES The Committee on Rules has fixed the calendar for the 4th Legislative Day, Thursday, January 11, and bills may be called at the pleasure of the Speaker.
