Atlanta area businesses to SCORE for inner-city youth
Local corporations will take it out of the board room and onto the soccer field

ATLANTA, (Aug. 30, 2007) – Do you and your soccer buddies have what it takes to become America SCORES Cup Champions? Find out when corporate soccer teams from across the metro-Atlanta area compete in a fundraising tournament for the benefit of America SCORES Atlanta on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007.

A 10 a.m. kick-off on Oct. 27 will herald this inaugural America SCORES Cup Atlanta fundraiser, a 7v.7 co-ed soccer tournament benefiting the America SCORES Atlanta program. Held at Georgia Soccer Park, a premier soccer facility located at 3895 Ben Hill Road in East Point, the tournament seeks to draw teams from businesses and professional service firms all across the metro area for a day of friendly competition in support of this great cause, providing after-school soccer and creative writing programs to public elementary school students in Atlanta. More than 800 spectators are expected to watch approximately 150 employees in local corporate teams compete from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in a quest for the bragging rights and the title of America SCORES Cup Atlanta Champions. A trophy presentation to the winning team will conclude the day's events.

The America SCORES Cup Atlanta is sponsored in part by Starbucks, Gatorade and Ted's Montana Grill. To find out more about sponsoring a team or to volunteer, please call (404) 246-5303 or email jlindsay@americascores.org.
