Talented Young Singers Accompany Atlanta Boy Choir on Concert Tour of Italy

Atlanta, GA (May 31, 2006) – Chip Davis, a student at Northview High School, and Lang Davis, a student at River Trail Middle School, are accompanying the renowned Atlanta Boy Choir on a concert tour of Italy from June 3-14.

The Atlanta Boy Choir will perform in Rome, Tuscany, Florence, and Venice. In Rome, the choir will sing in the Sistine Chapel and at St. Peter’s Basilica. The boys will also attend at a Papal Audience with Pope Benedict XVI and be given a private guided tour of the Vatican Museums.

In addition to singing in some of Italy’s most beautiful and historic cathedrals, the Atlanta Boy Choir will appear in two music festivals: the Choir Festival on the Aventine Hill in Rome and the International Youth Music Festival in Florence.

Founded in 1957, the Atlanta Boy Choir is one of the world’s finest boy choirs. The choir has won a Grammy Award for a recording of Britten’s War Requiem with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. The current artistic director and conductor of the Atlanta Boy Choir is David R. White.

Through its annual concert tours to cities in the U.S. and abroad, the Atlanta Boy Choir serves as a cultural ambassador for the Atlanta region and the State of Georgia.

Boys from throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area may audition to sing with the Atlanta Boy Choir. To inquire about auditions, call 404-378-0064.
