Mill Springs Academy gives students summer of opportunity

ALPHARETTA, Ga. (March 16, 2006) – This summer, youth are invited to attend the Mark Trail Camp at Mill Springs Academy, located at 13660 New Providence Road in Alpharetta, Ga.

Carpools are available in the East Cobb and Sandy Springs areas. Costs are $325 per one-week session, $900 for any three weeks and $1750 for all six weeks. Half-day sessions are $175 per week.
The Mark Trail Camp is designed to enhance self-esteem and the development of socialization skills. Through a variety of activities over the course of a week, campers learn about good sportsmanship, sharing and responsibility in the activities they pursue. For students who plan to attend Mill Springs Academy in the fall, the program is especially beneficial, giving them an early introduction to the school’s community.
Campers are under the supervision of a professional staff as well as Upper School students at Mill Springs Academy, who assist as part of their volunteer service program. All staff members have been a part of the camp for at least three years, adding to the fun, cohesive environment. A registered nurse is on staff at all times as well as a lifeguard and water safety instructor to provide swimming lessons at the pool.
The camp is led by William Turner, who has been the director of the Camp for five years and teaches math in the Pre-Upper School at Mill Springs Academy. “The Mark Trail Camp tailors its activities to accommodate each child, so that they get the most out of their experience,” said Turner. “We work with the parents and campers to find activities that most appeal to them and also offer them the opportunity to include custom, non-homework academic sessions so that students are prepared for the upcoming school year.”
