Breast Cancer Survivors From Across Georgia to Gather in “Celebration of Life”
Bosom Buddies’ Signature Event Raises Funds and Awareness
Survivors to Strut Their Stuff in Fashion Show

February 15, 2006 (Atlanta) – Bosom Buddies of Georgia, an affiliate program of the Georgia Cancer Foundation (GCF), will be hosting its twenty-third annual Celebration of Life Luncheon & Fashion Show on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast. Festivities begin at 10:30 AM with a social hour, silent auction, and exhibitor showcase. The fashion show and luncheon will follow at 11:30.

Celebration of Life is Bosom Buddies’ signature event uniting breast cancer survivors, family members, and friends in a gala afternoon.

“As Georgia’s largest breast cancer information and support network, Bosom Buddies takes pride in celebrating the lives of those living after breast cancer and remembering loved ones whose spirits live on in our hearts,” said Brenda Horne, executive director of GCF. “We are thrilled that more than 300 people will attend this year’s event.”

Celebration of Life, emceed by Star 94 FM’s Vikki Locke, will feature a keynote address by 20-year breast cancer survivor and former DeKalb County CEO Liane Levetan. Danielle Beverly, wife of Atlanta Falcons football player Eric Beverly, will present her personal survivor story. The fashion show will highlight Parisian Gwinnett Place Mall’s latest spring fashions, all modeled by a diverse group of breast cancer survivors.

Sponsors of Celebration of Life include the Atlanta Falcons Women’s Association in association with the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation, Northside Hospital, Englert Technologies, Tanger Outlets Locust Grove, and Big Tattoo Winery. Along with contributions from other corporate and private sponsors, proceeds from the event allow Bosom Buddies to provide meaningful services such as breast cancer support groups, phone support for newly diagnosed patients, low-cost mammograms, and minority outreach programs.

Tickets are priced at $55 and are available for advance purchase only through February 24. For ticket information, contact Bosom Buddies at 770-396-7995, ext. 10.

Breast cancer survivors from around the state, and GCF representatives, are available for press interviews upon request. For more information, or to schedule an interview with a local breast cancer survivor, please contact Ryan Klee at 404-373-2021 or ryan@lenzmarketing.com.
