Upcoming Carter Library Speaker to Appear on CBS, CNN & CSPAN
Author of "The Ravaging Tide" to Speak at Carter Library on August 24

Atlanta, GA. (August 16, 2006) - Mike Tidwell, the author of "The Ravaging Tide: Strange Weather, Future Katrina's, and the Coming Death of America's Coastal Cities," will discuss his new book and
sign copies at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum on Thursday, August 24th at 7:30 p.m. The lecture and book signing are free and open to the public. Doors open at 7:00 pm.

You can get a preview of Tidwell's talk during his appearances on CBS, C-SPAN, and CNN in the days leading up to the Carter Library lecture. Tidwell will be on the CBS Early Show Thursday, August 17 between 8 and 9 a.m. eastern time. Next Wednesday night, August 23rd,
he is scheduled to be on a live broadcast from Octavia Books in New Orleans on C-SPAN's Book-TV and immediately afterwards, he's scheduled for Anderson Cooper's show on CNN.

Publishers Weekly said Tidwell "ramps up the rhetoric to a Category 5 intensity in this assessment of how global warming is swelling the volume of water lapping against the world's coasts. Because of society's insistence on re-engineering natural waterways and shorelines, we are committing a form of "group suicide."

Following his talk at the Carter Library, Tidwell will sign copies of "The Raging Tide." A Cappella Books will be selling "The Raging Tide" at the lecture.
