ATLANTA, GA (July 29) – Has this summer left you
without an opportunity to show off your high kicks,
karaoke talent, and killer, Moulin Rouge-inspired
costume? No need to despair, because the annual, and
now notorious, Spin & Gin art benefit is pleased
to present summertime’s hottest cabaret on Friday,
August 12th! Hosted by creative marketing firm, Spin
Creative, Inc., the event will feature a silent art
auction, karaoke music, as well as food, drinks and
other entertainment!
Stiff martinis, red lipstick and
can-can performances make this cabaret an evening
you won’t forget! Sip drinks, sample tasty,
decadent delights from Fado' Irish Pub and
Restaurant, and enjoy performances that are sure to
improve as the night goes on!
A silent art auction with exceptional
art mediums awaits attendees. Guests will be
captivated by these Atlanta artists including the
images of Slovakian gypsies by Jaroslav Kanka, as
well as self-mocking and amusing illustrations by
Justin Winslow.
The proceeds of this year’s event
benefit Essential Theatre, a non-profit theatre
group nationally recognized for its dedication to
local playwrights. Essential Theatre hosts a
playwriting competition every year in search of a
new play from a Georgia playwright to showcase
during their annual January festival. This year’s
winner will be announced at Spin & Gin’s
cabaret!
“Spin & Gin was founded from an
idea to have an original, entertaining night of art,
music and food for a good cause,” added President
of Spin Creative, Inc, Sheri Bedard Bannister.
“This year’s theme of a cabaret gives our guests
a fun night out, and we also offer local artists a
great place to showcase their work.”
Essential Theatre has a few more
surprises planned for guests at Spin & Gin. Look
for creative actors and actresses adding their own
twist and spark to the evening bringing the
time-honored tradition of a French cabaret to real
life!
“During the days of a cabaret, they really knew how to throw a party,” says Artistic Director Peter Hardy of Essential Theatre. “And today, who knows how to throw a party better than Spin & Gin?” |
