Chocolate delights for An Evening of Romance
Fernbank’s annual event satisfies the sweet tooth with a romantic flair

ATLANTA (Dec. 15) — Looking for something bigger than a box of chocolates or more original than a dinner reservation for your Valentine’s Day sweetheart? Then be sure to bring your Valentine to the ultimate chocolate experience at Fernbank Museum of Natural History for An Evening of Romance. Inspired this year by Chocolate: The Exhibition, An Evening of Romance promises a chocolate lover’s dream complete with a selection of tantalizing desserts paired with after-hours access to Chocolate.

Chocolate: The Exhibition is a decadent indulgence into everything chocolate, exploring the plant, products, history and culture of this rich treat. Exhibition-goers will glimpse ancient pottery created for the consumption of the first chocolate drinks, see early chocolate products in nostalgic pop-culture packaging, examine factory equipment to learn how chocolate is made, and test their chocolate IQ. Visitors will also explore the cacao tree’s natural rainforest habitat and chocolate’s evolution from a bitter drink concocted by the Maya into a sweet treat that today is adored by cultures around the world.

Perfect for couples or singles, the evening includes music and dancing, delicious treats and a premium bar highlighted by Fernbank’s chocolate martinis and featured wines. In addition to the decadent desserts, A Legendary Event will also provide a gourmet coffee bar with all the trimmings. And since no Valentine’s Day is complete without flowers, Whole Foods Market will provide a complimentary rose for each lady in attendance. Guests will also have the chance to register-to-win a heart-shaped box of delicious chocolates from Godiva.

An Evening of Romance will be held February 14, 2006 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person for members and $65 per person for non-members. Ticket prices are all-inclusive of food, beverages and admission to Chocolate: The Exhibition. Reservations are required by February 8 at 404.929.6400. Tickets are non-refundable. For more information, including a list of featured desserts, visit www.fernbank.edu/museum.
