Irvin To Unveil New Spay-Neuter Tag Monday

ATLANTA (Dec. 9) - Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin will unveil the new dog and cat sterilization fund license plate Monday (Dec. 12th) in a press conference in Room 201 of the Agriculture Building.

Meet the artist* and see how the art was transformed into the new license plate at the press conference at 10 a.m. in Agriculture Room 201 across from the State Capitol.

The art on the new tag was selected from among more than 400 entries in a contest held this past summer by the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

“Animal lovers now will have a choice from two vehicle tag designs to show their support for the dog and cat sterilization fund,” said Commissioner Irvin.

More than 46,000 tags were sold of the first design and proceeds were used to assist more than 700 veterinarians in performing 19,000 surgeries. The new license plate is scheduled to be in tag offices in the latter half of January but can be purchased prior to that time. Most of the one-time $25 fee for the specialty plate goes to the Dog and Cat Sterilization Fund.
