Governor Perdue Appoints Solicitor-General of Athens-Clarke County

ATLANTA (Aug. 22) – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Morris H. “Mo” Wiltshire as the Solicitor-General of Athens-Clarke County. Wiltshire will fill the balance of the unexpired term of Ralph W. Powell (resignation effective August 31). The term expires on January 1, 2007. A brief biography is provided below:

   Morris H. “Mo” Wiltshire, 36, Athens, GA – Wiltshire is a partner with Garcia, Rose & Wiltshire, LLC. He joined the firm as an associate in 1996. Wiltshire serves as a volunteer instructor for the Athens-Clarke County Police Department and the Georgia Institute of Continuing Legal Education in the Georgia Trial Skills Clinic. He also serves as an American Cancer Society Relay for Life Team Sponsor and he works with the Georgia Mock Trial Program as a volunteer coach and judge. Wiltshire earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi and his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. He and his wife, Melissa, have one daughter.
