New Zogby Poll Shows Georgians
Want Cathy’s Kind of Change
• Cathy leads Taylor: " a new conventional wisdom about the Democrat primary," say observers
• Less than 50% of Georgians approve of Perdue’s Job
• “Dead Heat:” Cox strongest candidate to face Perdue
Atlanta, GA(aPR. 27) - Gubernatorial candidate Cathy Cox responded today to a new Atlanta Journal-Constitution/Zogby public opinion poll showing broad support across Georgia for her campaign. The survey found that Cathy Cox is a much stronger candidate in both the primary and general elections than Mark Taylor.
“I’m offering a new covenant with Georgia, based on responsibility, opportunity, and progress. Although it’s still early, it’s exciting to see people are responding to our plans to change Georgia,” said Cox. “Everywhere I go, people tell me they’re fed up with the endless partisan fighting under the Gold Dome, and they want real solutions to move Georgia forward. These new numbers provide further evidence that Georgians are ready for a new covenant.”
According to the Zogby survey, Cathy currently holds a wide lead over Mark Taylor among Democratic Primary voters. The poll also found that Sonny Perdue would beat Mark Taylor easily, but that Cathy Cox would be a far stronger opponent against Perdue in a general election match up.
“Georgians know my record of bringing people together. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a Republican or Democrat. Folks agree that it’s time for a new vision for Georgia – it’s time for a change,” concluded Cox.
According to the poll, less than half of Georgians approve of Sonny Perdue’s job performance, and fewer than 50% of Georgians think our state is on the right track.
