Cain: Isakson makes election year conversion
U.S. Senate candidate releases new radio ad
FOREST PARK, GA *May 27) - Today, Herman Cain, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate released a statewide radio ad, which clearly differentiates between Cain and Rep. Johnny Isakson on replacing the tax code.
In his latest ad, Cain stated: “For ten years, I've been fighting to replace the tax code with a fairer and simpler system. But Mr. Isakson has done nothing but promote more of the same. Now that he's in a tough Senate race, he’s decided he agrees with me. The choice in this race is clear.”
“Since Mr. Isakson won’t debate and he won’t talk about the issues, I feel it is my responsibility to tell Georgians the truth about Johnny,” said Cain. “His record in Washington does not reflect his rhetoric here in Georgia. For those people who are tired of deciding which Johnny is pitching for their vote, they can join the Cain campaign.
“Mr. Isakson has shown no leadership, yet he makes himself out to be a fiscal conservative,” said Cain. “He waits until he is in a tough election before he talks about changing our tax code. He has spent years in Washington standing on the sidelines while I have been traveling the country talking about replacing the tax code with the Fair Tax.
“We seem to be playing a game of follow the leader,” Cain continued. “I bring up an issue, talk about the solution and my opponent, Rep. Johnny Isakson tries to follow. He would continue to show no leadership in Washington, while I will lead the fight to bring bold solutions to the issues we face.
“The difference is clear,” Cain concluded. “If Georgians want someone who will show up and vote and not rock the boat, Mr. Isakson is their candidate. If they want someone who will rock the boat and drive the boat, with a passion for change, that’s Cain.”
Team Cain is leading the other campaigns in grassroots organization. Cain, the first candidate to go on television and radio, has been steadily building an unparalleled grassroots organization across Georgia. The first to go on statewide television and radio, Cain was neck and neck with Isakson in fundraising last quarter. Cain also recently opened two field offices outside Atlanta that cover South and Southeast Georgia.

ANNOUNCER: Herman Cain talks sense. And now, Republican businessman Herman Cain.
CAIN: Ever heard the term “death bed conversion?” When someone finds religion just before they meet their maker?
In politics, it’s called election year conversion.
That’s when politicians switch sides, hoping to fool the voters.
And that’s what Congressman Johnny Isakson is doing right now.
For ten years, I've been fighting to replace the tax code with a fairer and simpler system. But Mr. Isakson has done nothing but promote more of the same.
Now that he's in a tough Senate race, he’s decided he agrees with me.
The choice in this race is clear. If you’re looking for somebody who won't rock the boat, Mr. Isakson is your candidate.
But if you're looking for somebody who'll rock the boat and then drive the boat, with a passion for change, then you are looking for Herman Cain.
Conservative? You bet. I call it common sense. That's my message. I’m Herman Cain.
ANNOUNCER: Herman Cain talks sense.
